ENGLISH Ana Vila (Igualada, 1949) works as a nurse in a national health clinic. She made her debut in the world of literature with an essay dedicated to her daughter Sandra, Els fills diferents (Our Different Children), published in 1991. She has been writing ever since, alternating children’s literature and novels for adults. In 1993, she received the Pere Quart Prize for Humour and Satire with Vacances al Zurich (Holidays in the Café Zurich). In 1993, she and the illustrator Maria Teresa Cáceres were jointly awarded the Apel·les Mestres Prize for the children’s story "A mi no em veu ningú" (No One Can See Me). Ana Vila has a peculiarity when she is writing her books: she tries to find information wherever she can and, though it may be difficult to do, she likes to submit herself to the experiences of some of her characters. En enero de 2002 comparte el premio Apel·les Mestres con la ilustradora Maria Teresa Cáceres por el cuento infantil "A mi no em veu ningú". Anna Vila tiene una idea fija en el momento de preparar sus libros: trata de buscar información por todos lados y, a poco que pueda, le gusta pasar por las experiencias de algunos de sus personajes.
