Ferran Torrent (Sedaví, l'Horta, 1951) is a writer and journalist. The book "No emprenyeu el comissari" (Don't Wind Up the Commissioner) marks the beginning of his success as the author of crime novels, this being followed by "Penja els guants, Butxana" (Hang Up Your Gloves, Butxana - 1996), "Un negre amb un saxo" (A Black Guy with a Sax - 1995), of which a film was made, "Gràcies per la propina" (Thanks fior the Tip - 1995) an autobiography in novel form, which received the 1994 Saint George Prize and which was also made into a film, "La mirada del tafur" (The Gamblerís Gaze - 1997), "L'illa de l'holandès" (The Dutchmanís Island - 1998), of which a film was made, and "Cambres d'acer inoxidable" (Stainless Steel Chambers - 2000). With his work as a journalist, he is a constant presence in the mass media with articles, reports and commentaries. He has also participated in the writing of a number of scripts for radio and cinema.
