English Sergi Pàmies (Paris, 1960), alternates his literary production with his work with different branches of the mass media - journalistic articles in the case of his written work, with scripts and appearances in an ironic and humorous vein for radio and television. His novels include "L'instint" (Instinct - 1992), which received, by the readersí vote, the Prudenci Bertrana Prize, and "Sentimental" (1996) where he introduced a number of intense reflections on the themes of friendship, love and death. The collection of stories under the ironic title "La gran novel.la sobre Barcelona" (The Great Novel on Barcelona) received the Serra díOr Criticsí Prize in 1998. The nine stories in "L'últim llibre de Sergi Pàmies" (2000) reveals, in synthesis and its formal refinement, a catalogue of the fears afflicting modern man. He has translated works of Gillaume Apollinaire, Jean-Philippe Toussaint, Agota Kristof and Daniel Pennac, amongst others.
