English Andreu Martín (Barcelona, 1949) is a playwright, novelist, scriptwriter for television series and comic writer. He as also worked as a cinema director with the film "Sauna". He has written detective novels such as "Pròtesi" (Prosthesis) which received the 1980 Premio Círculo del Crimen (Crime Circle Prize), "Barcelona Connection" (the 1989 Hammet Prize of the International Association of Detective Novels), which was adapted for cinema, and also the novels "Per l'amor de Déu" (For the Love of God) and L'home que tenia raor" (The Man with the Razor) which received the 1993 Hammet Prize, and most recently "Jutge i part". As a writer of children's books, he won, along with Jaume Ribera, the Premi Nacional de Literatura Infantil i Juvenil (National Infants' and Childrens' Book Prize) for "No demanis llobarro fora de temporada" (Don't ask for Sea-perch Out of Season) with which he began the series of books devoted to the young detective Flanagan. His work has been translated into German, French, Italian, Lithuanian, Dutch, Basque and the Asturian dialect of Bable. Su obra ha sido traducida al alemán, francés, italiano, lituano, holandés, vasco y bable. Il écri aussi des romans pour jeunes comme Vampir malgré moi et les histoires du jeune privé Flanagan, la première desquelles, La Sardine, a obtenu le Prix National de Littérature pour Enfants et Jeunes, 1989. Il est aussi auteur de trois pièces de théatre et réalisateur d'un film, Sauna. Il a été traduit en allemand, italien, hollandais, basque et asturien.
