English Miquel Batllori (Barcelona, 1909) is a theologian and historian with degrees in History, Law, Philosophy and Theology. His work, written in different languages, amounts to more than two hundred titles and is centred around Ramon Llull and Llull studies in Europe, Arnau de Vilanova, Humanism and the Renaissance, the culture of the Jesuits in the eighteenth century, and other significant moments of European culture. He has been outstanding in his work on the Valencian family of the Borja, amongst the members of which were politicians, popes and saints. His essay-studies have contributed in indicating new directions for research. His historiographic work and his person have been honoured with the highest awards, amongst which are the Medalla d'Or de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Gold Medal of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia) and the Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes (Catalan Letters Award of Honour). He is an Honorary Member of the Associació d'Escriptors de Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers). Español Miquel Batllori (Barcelona, 1909). Teólogo e historiador. Su obra, escrita en varias lenguas, supera los doscientos títulos, y se centra en Ramon Llull y el lulismo en Europa, Arnau de Vilanova, el humanismo y el Renacimiento, la cultura de los jesuitas en el siglo XVIII y otros momentos relevantes de la cultura europea. Ha destacado en el estudio de la familia valenciana de los Borja, entre cuyos miembros hubieron políticos, papas y santos. Sus estudios ensayísticos han contribuido a marcar nuevos caminos de investigación. Su obra historiográfica y su personalidad han sido distinguidas con los galardones más importantes, entre los que figuran la Medalla d'Or de la Generalitat de Catalunya y el Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes. Es Socio de Honor de la Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.
